Green Card for Family

Family members are eligible to be sponsored for permanent residence here in the United States if they are relatives of US citizens and permanent residents. If granted permanent resident status, people are given green card as a way to show proof of that status. “Immediate Relatives” would be either a spouse, parents, and unmarried children under 21 years of age. If you are trying to obtain a Green Card using immediate family, the process is quick and easy. However, if you fall under the “Family preference category”, which are unmarried children over 21 years of age, siblings, and married children of any age, the process takes longer because you have to wait until a visa number has become available.
